She did it first thing in the morning. The dishes that is. It would be wrong to assume that this was out of a strong sense of responsibility. No; she needed to use the same dishes to make the same breakfast she made yesterday at the same time.
It was summer, and the sun stretched across the room and made her orange countertops sparkle. As she scrubbed, she would lose her sense of time staring at a color that made her drool for the juice of a ripe navel orange.
In the quiet before the start of the day, the sound of running water whisked her away to a dreamscape where any idea was a creation.
