Many of my night images are inspired by the spirit of exploring, and looking for what is out of place. When capturing this piece, the multiple "motel" signs stood out to me, as well as the fact that this location is in the middle of an otherwise normal residential street. It felt as if it didn't belong, and I too felt like I shouldn't have been exploring here. Somehow, the combination of being here by myself at night, and the location feeling out of place, creates some form of magic for me.

I knew I needed to capture this image, because the thought of it was uncomfortable.
