Karine Laval's psychedelic photographs currently adorn the walls of the Benrubi gallery. The solo exhibition is composed of work from several of her series, including “Heterotopia” and “Black Palms.” Some of the collections are displayed with stylized light features, while others are overlaid with large projections of select photographs. Through her geographical subjects and use of color, she critiques our perception of the everyday.

This past Wednesday, the gallery presented a special event which included a live performance by the artist, as well as large-scale video projections and live musical accompaniment. The performative event served as a closing reception for the exhibition.

The show is on display until July 1st.
