On the evening of Tuesday, June 7th, non-profit organization, Next Generation Nepal, celebrated their 10th anniversary at The Park, in Chelsea. Celebrated designer, television host, and author, Nate Berkus, and his husband, Jeremiah Brent, hosted the benefit dinner. The true star of the night, though, was fashion designer Prabal Gurung, who was honored with the 2016 World Changer Award.

Gurung, from Nepal originally, founded the Shikshya Foundation Nepal, an organization focused on ameliorating the education system in his native country –Nepal. While accepting the award, he gave an impassioned speech about his coming from Nepal and how he found his way into the fashion world. Gurung’s work with Shikshya partners with the Next Generation Nepal mission of uniting trafficked Nepali children with their families, which has been in progress for their 10 years of life thus far.

Guests included Nate Berkus, Jeremiah Brent, Prabal Gurung, Conor and Elizabeth Grennan, Jonathan Lelonek, Paul Josephson, Varsha Thapa, Jay Fielden, Ian Spurrier and Samantha Pincus.
